Before wrapping up for the holidays, our Wyvern students were on a mission to do one more act of good.

Strato, Zachary and Manni in Year 4 are taking part in the Spartan Race this year to raise money for the Little Legs Foundation, a cause very close to our heart here at Newington. To support them we hosted a race of our own, with all sorts of obstacles set up on the playground to challenge our students and staff and raise money for the Little Legs Foundation. The day was a great success, and between obstacle course participants and online donations, our students contributed over $900 to the cause 🌻

Captain of Swimming Sebastian K, competing for New

Captain of Swimming Sebastian K, competing for Newington Swimming Club, has won the club's first ever National Age Championships gold medal after taking out the U17 200m Backstroke.

Year 9 student Luke L, competing for PLC Sydney Swim Club, achieved a podium finish in the following U14 events:
• 1st in 200m Backstroke
• 2nd in 200m Freestyle
• 3rd in 100m Backstroke
• 3rd in 400m Freestyle
• 3rd in 400m Individual Medley

Other Newington students to compete at the prestigious event were Liam W, Toby T and Michael Z. Congratulations to them all on representing the College at such a high level.

Félix died on Sunday 7th April from a rare cancer. Please join his family in celebrating his life on Friday 19 April at 2pm.

The service will be held in the Newington College Chapel at 2pm, followed by a wake from 3.30–5.30pm. Parking is limited.

This was one of many questions asked last week, when we welcomed students from St Andrew's Cathedral College to join a session with IB Philosophy leader Dr Chris White. The focus was on collaborating philosophically with others, with a particular focus on assumptions, arguments and implications. Responses to these curious questions were composed in the classic philosophical form: a Socratic dialogue 🗣

Embarking on a journey of learning, service and co

Embarking on a journey of learning, service and connection, our Aboriginal Studies and Moulton House students joined forces on a recent trip to Eungai Creek and Kempsey.

With visits to the Aboriginal Medical Service and job agencies like Pathways to the Pilbara, students engaged with Elders and gained invaluable insights into Indigenous healthcare and employment opportunities. Nature's classroom awaited as students trekked through Hat Head National Park, and swam at the neighbouring creek. Overall, the trip gave students an opportunity to collaborate, explore and challenge themselves in ways our inner-city lives don't always allow ☀️🌱
